Château Fonbadet 2016

37.75

Official Tasting Notes:
Inky crimson with black core. Very dark on the nose, rocky, cassis and a cedary touch. The texture is dry but there’s a fluid, fresh core that runs through to a long finish. Refined and harmonious.

Deep in color, the wine serves up its blend of cedar, smoke, tobacco, spearmint, cassis and blackberry readily. The wine is full bodied, powerful and long, with roundness to the tannins and length that does not quit. Leave this in the cellar for 7-9 years and enjoy it for the next 10-15 or 20 years after that!

John’s view:
My wife cannot drink Pauillac, she finds it too heavy and tannic and if you do like light soft wines then this stuff is not for you. If however you have a large hunk of rib-eye steak ot half a roast duck that needs something that can take on their flavours you will not find a better match than this. Open it up and it smells like a fresh box of cigars – honestly it does!
