Auxey-Duresses (pronounced ‘Orzy” if you want to sound like a local) is the neighbouring village to Meursault – think Castillon to St Emilion or Fronsac to Pomerol and you will get the idea. So you get all the class of a Meursault at half the price. Now I would be lying if I said it was just as good but it is a delightful, citrusy white wine that is perfect with turkey or shellfish and a must with salmon. This example is named after the vineyard owners daughter.
